Natural Resources Management

Sustainable forestry management can help address pressing challenges of deforestation and poverty alleviation, food security and quality, ecosystem services, and conservation of biodiversity and cultural diversity.
Using sustainable forestry management principles and approaches, capacity building is especially needed to transform international commitment or Multilateral Environmental Agreement (MEAs) and National policy on Environment into practice "on the ground" in local communities of rural area countrywide.
An increasingly urgent call for change to re-connect society and nature for sustainable natural resources requires clear, immediate efforts in sustainability education and awareness. Within this context, ZIEM and its partners designed and implemented the Sustainable Forestry Program Sponsored by Food and Agriculture Organisation and Forestry Department.
ZIEM performed highly successful forestry management capacity-building works and developed a forest sector resource mobilisation strategy up to 2016.
The Zambia Institute of Environmental Management is currently implementing the following programs in Natural Resources Management.
