Social Protection Floor workshop 20th -21st October 2014 Fringila Lodge Lusaka
Since inception in 2010, PSP Zambia has been dedicated to building the capacities of key stakeholders in Social Protection. A number of conceptual frameworks have been espoused although none of them quite like the Social Protection Floors as espoused by the ILO. The SPF provide a broad yet basic framework for providing Social Protection for all, from a rights perspective, yet still allows scope for defining these minimums on the basis of national capacities. The gap however is that while it promises to be a useful framework to advocate for comprehensive Social Protection provision, little is known about the SPF nationally. The Platform for Social Protection, continuing to build the capacities of key stakeholders, would like to raise national level awareness of the Social Protection Floors. As a first step, PSP Zambia, would want to hold a two (2) day orientation workshop for its Civil Society members and partners.
Objectives
-
To foster understanding of Social Protection Floors among Civil Society Advocates
-
To get feedback from Civil Society on how we can champion SPF
-
To establish working relations around SPF
