The Platform has also embarked on a process of establishing an independent grievance mechanism for Social protection programs. This will initially be piloted on the SCTs and later be rolled out to other programs. The grievance mechanism will provide SP beneficiaries a free and fair platform to register concerns and complaints with the delivery and operations of SP programs. The Platform is also currently developing the Social Protection Index, a tool which will be used to assess government’s performance and budgetary allocation on the four pillars of Social Protection outlined in the National Social Protection Policy

PSP Zambia has also partnered with Care International in Zambia to implement a three year project funded by the European Commission. The project is called Strengthening Cash transfers for Access to finance, Livelihoods and Entrepreneurship (SCALE) which target 10,000 SCT households in Kaputa, Katete, Kalomo and Kazungula. SCALE offers Village Savings and Loan (VSL) and Selection, Planning and Management (SPM) to social cash transfer (SCT) beneficiaries under the Ministry of Community Development, Mother and Child Health (MCDMCH).
